Praa Sands Beaches

Praa Sands
The perfect family beach, Praa Sands boasts a mile of white sand, shallow waters and great surf. With facilities right by the beach and surf hire also available, you’ll be able to make the most of this incredible spot!
Parking: There is a car park next to the beach.
Toilets: There are toilets at the cafe by the beach.
Facilities: Beach shop, cafe and toilets.
Safety: Patrolled by lifeguards in peak season.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Porthleven beach
A fabulous beach for walks and easily accessible from the town - 3 miles of glorious sand to explore! Take care of the tides and best not to swim or surf here as the undercurrents are strong.

Toilets: There are no public toilets but plenty of cafes, shops, restaurants etc in Porthleven.
Facilities: All facilities are located in Porthleven.
Safety: Patrolled by lifeguards only in the main peak season.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. This ban operates from the Harbour Wall to the flight of steps (known as the Blue Buoy steps). On the rest of the beach there are no restrictions. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Loe Bar Beach
Just south of Porthleven, Loe Bar beach is a half mile shingle bank which separates the Loe, the largest natural fresh walk lake in Cornwall, from the sea.
Parking: There is a small car park to the east of Porthleven, about 15 minutes’ walk away.
Toilets: None.
Facilities: None.
Safety: No lifeguard cover and people are advised not to swim here.
Dogs: Allowed all year. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
