Discover Praa Sands
Set in a large, sweeping bay between Marazion and Porthleven, Praa Sands (pronounced Pray Sands) is blessed with a stunning beach – a long stretch of beautiful white sand which boasts some of the best surf on the south coast.
Perfect for families, the south-facing beach has surf hire facilities, amenities adjacent to the beach and a mile of fine sand.
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Praa Sands affords some fabulous views and scenery which can be enjoyed from the South West Coast Path. Also located on the path is the Sunderland Flying Boat Memorial, which remembers the pilot and crew who successfully landed there in 1943, despite sustaining damage to the plane during an air battle against eight German planes over 800 miles away in the Bay of Biscay.
The village has a few restaurants and bars and nearby Porthleven is a real foodie hotspot. Nearby Penzance offers plenty of shopping opportunities as well as several galleries and studios. You are also just a few miles from Marazion – the gateway to St Michaels Mount. This amazing island is well worth a visit, with its impressive causeway, beautiful castle and idyllic little village and harbour.
