Land's End to Lamorna Cove Beaches

Located in the far West of Cornwall, the area around Land’s End and along to Lamorna is full of some of the most stunning beaches in the county. Some of the idyllic little coves in the area have been used in the filming of the BBC series of Poldark, and it’s easy to see why. Picturesque inlets with turquoise waters dotted along the spectacular coastline.

Gwenver Beach

Secluded and quiet, this beautiful beach is situated north of Land’s End, at the far end of Sennen Cove (the two link up at low tide).

Parking: There is a car park about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach. It's only open in summer.
Toilets: None.
Facilities: None.
Safety: Patrolled by lifeguards in peak season.
Dogs: Dog friendly all year, although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Sennen Beach

Just along the coast from Land’s End, Sennen Beach is served by the little village at Sennen Cove. Popular for surfers, it boasts some great conditions for catching some waves. It’s also a popular beach for families with beautiful white sands.

Parking: Two car parks, one located right by the beach.
Toilets: Toilets less than 2 minutes' walk.
Facilities: Beach café/restaurant, shop and surf hire less than 2 minutes' walk.
Safety: Patrolled by lifeguards in peak season.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Pedn Vounder Beach

One of Cornwall’s most stunning beaches. It has seen a surge in popularity since being featured in Poldark. However, it is difficult to access. With no facilities and a steep (near vertical), narrow decent to the beach, it should only be attempted by those with sturdy footwear and a head for heights! The reward for the difficult climb down (and back up!) is one of the most glorious beaches in the country, but please do plan your trip carefully and do not attempt unless you are sure this path is suitable for you. Pedn Vounder is also an unofficial naturist beach.

Parking: There is a car park about a 10 minute walk from the beach. Or you can walk across the cliffs from neighbouring Porthcurno.
Toilets: None.
Facilities: None.
Safety: No lifeguards.
Dogs: Dog friendly all year, although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Porthcurno Beach

Another one of Cornwall’s truly picture-perfect beaches. White sands and turquoise waters, it looks more like the Caribbean than Britain! Worth a visit are the Telegraph Museum and the Minack Theatre, perched high above the beach. Mostly safe for families but do take care at high tide.

Parking: There is a car park a few minutes' walk from the beach.
Toilets: In the car park, a few minutes' walk from the beach.
Facilities: The village has a café and pub just a few minutes' walk from the beach.
Safety: Patrolled by lifeguards in peak season.

As well as the main beaches, there are countless little coves all worth a visit. Why not pop to Lamorna Cove, St Loy's Cove, Porthguarnon Cove, Porthgwarra Beach and Nanjizel Beach?
