Land's End to Lamorna Cove

Lamorna Cove is one of those little Cornish villages that feels like it is much the same as in bygone days.  You can imagine smugglers congregating here on a wild and windy night, hoping to lure unsuspecting ships onto the rocky shore.  

This beautiful area makes for a quiet and secluded retreat from busy lives.  The cliff paths and spectacular views make it a walker’s paradise.  It is an area loved by artists, and you can see why.  The film Summer in February (about the Lamorna Group, part of the Newlyn School of Artists) was filmed here.

You can get a delicious meal or a drink at the Lamorna Wink, a characterful country pub around half a mile from the cove.  Then, why not head down on foot to explore the cove?

Lamorna is a stunning place to visit at any time of year, but especially so in the winter, when most people have gone home and you can spend a solitary hour watching the waves crashing against the cliffs, or in the spring, when a profusion of wild flowers begin to show their colours early due to the sheltered nooks and the mild maritime climate, it is particularly magical.
