Lostwithiel and The Fowey River Area
The best of both worlds. Enjoy the idyllic, scenic countryside that this area has to offer, whilst only being a few miles from the coast and from the town of Lostwithiel.
There are several picturesque villages and hamlets dotted along the stunning Fowey River just waiting to be explored. Milltown, Lerryn, Golant, Bodinnick and Mixtow, to name but a few, are nestled along the river and are well worth a visit. Little boats line the wooded shore and these peaceful, unspoilt little villages provide the most relaxing holiday destination to unwind.
A short drive away, situated at the start of the River Fowey, is the beautiful medieval town of Lostwithiel. With a choice of independent shops, excellent restaurants and an award winning market, it is attracting a growing number of visitors. Surrounded by a variety of gorgeous walks and having 'history in every stone' (John Betjeman), the town prides itself on its heritage and charm.
In the other direction, where the river meets the sea, is the town of Fowey. Famous for sailing, boat races and the Fowey Literary Festival, this town is popular with visitors and locals alike.
