Fowey River Cottages
The Fowey River offers visitors that rare mix; an idyllic escape in stunning countryside, yet only a few miles from the market town of Lostwithiel and also from the sailing port of Fowey and the beaches of the south coast.
Spend your days exploring the villages and hamlets such as Mixtow, Bodinnick, Lerryn and Milltown that lie in picturesque woodland near the river. Or perhaps venture to the coast to try your hand at sailing or to enjoy the many beaches in this part of the world. There are shops and restaurants a-plenty to enjoy throughout your stay and many great places to visit and things to do.
Lostwithiel has many charming historic buildings and there are several riverside footpaths that lead from the town with local guide books available. The Eden Project is within a fifteen minutes drive and the historic harbours of Charlestown and Mevagissey are about thirty minutes away. At high tide, the river is suitable for small boats and is popular with anglers for its flounder, bass, salmon and trout.
