For true seclusion, why not head to Bodmin Moor for a picnic, or to one of the many coves and bays that are off the beaten track, check out our beaches guide for information about the best spots.
For true indulgence, spoil yourself at one of the region’s many luxury spas, such as The Clearing Spa in St. Austell, or have a full-day pampering and enjoy the fine-dining experience at Fowey Hall.

What kind of cottages do you have for couples?
Here at Cornish Horizons we have a huge variety of cottages for couples. From open plan apartments to coastal cottages and converted country barns, our range will satisfy those seeking rural romance, seaside adventures or small town seclusion. Log burning stoves, open fires and hot tubs are the epitome of winter cosiness, while sun-drenched balconies and private terraces complete with barbecues and sea views smack of summertime living at its finest. Whenever and wherever you choose to stay, we will have a brilliant box-ticking property to suit your every need and whim.
Where are these cottages?
Our cottages are scattered throughout Cornwall, and we have neatly split them into five areas. North Cornwall, South East Cornwall, South Cornwall, Mid-Cornwall, and West Cornwall. In South East Cornwall you can take in some seriously spellbinding seaside delights. Also along the south coast, you can stay at the sublime traditional fishing village of Portwrinkle and lounge along the sprawling golden sands of Whitsand Bay; or pick a quaint cottage in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Polperro. Walk along the South West Coast Path, venture inland to the breathtaking Bodmin Moor or visit the acclaimed Eden Project, which are all situated in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, for couples dreaming of days spent exploring Cornwall’s coves, historic landmarks and sampling some sumptuous food, North Cornwall is a tantalising choice. Base yourself in Bude, Boscastle, Camelford or Tintagel for the mythological must-sees such as Tintagel Castle, Merlin’s Cave and Museum of Witchcraft, and visit the idyllic harbourside village of Port Isaac and Rick Stein’s foodie hotspot of Padstow to boot. With properties located in and around all of these locations, couples will not only find a cottage to match their taste, but will enjoy the feast of things to see and do – or simply sit back, relax and sink into your surrounds.
West Cornwall is a wildly romantic holiday location, presenting St Michael’s Mount in Penzance and famous artist’s hub along with the Tate gallery in the stunning resort of St Ives. Why not whip over to the offshore sub-tropical archipelago of the Isles of Scilly for a day trip or weekend of incredibly beautiful and unique island life? And of course Mid Cornwall is another magnificent choice. Ride the waves at Newquay’s surfing capital, sunbathe on St Austell’s amazing stretch of sheltered sands or check out the sights of Cornwall’s only city in the county’s commercial heart of Truro. Experience one of Cornwall’s maritime epicentres at Falmouth, where you can cruise the Fal River, shop the bevy of beautiful independent boutiques, sunbathe on the plethora of picture postcard beaches and dine on some freshly landed seafood.
What recommendations do you have for couples to see and do during their stay?
Indulge in a romantic meal at one of Nathan Outlaw’s award-winning restaurants in Rock and Port Isaac, Ben Tunnicliffe’s seafood gem in Newlyn or Rick Stein’s culinary jewels in Padstow. Spoil yourself at a luxury spa in a picturesque locale. In St Austell, there’s The Clearing Spa at The Cornwall, while in the west, St Ives Harbour Hotel Spa is a heavenly highlight. Newquay’s newest offering is a Five Bubble rated retreat at The Headland Hotel, or opt for eco luxury at The Scarlet’s seaview spa. Meanwhile, St Moritz Cowshed Spa is a supremely self-pampering venue.
Entertain yourselves with a show at the Eden Project, Truro’s Hall For Cornwall or The Minack Theatre near Lands End. Brace the sea air with a walk along any of The South West Coast Path or wander aimlessly round vast areas of natural farmland, woodland, World Heritage mining sites and exotic gardens.
Can we bring pets with us?
Many of our properties are pet friendly, which means that your dog can accompany you on holiday for an extra convenient and memorable holiday. Since many of Cornwall’s top attractions, beaches and pubs are also dog-friendly, you’ll be able to experience a host of delights together, treating him to a holiday that he - and you – will never forget.
