Tintagel Cottages
Tintagel is all about myth and legend. Thought to be the birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel revels in its ancient history and is now one of the most visited places in Britain. Tintagel Castle now sits in ruin, but is one of the most famous landmarks in the south west. King Arthur and the legendary Knights of the Round Table have long been associated with Tintagel and a trip to the castle will fuel your desires to learn more. Tintagel is a great place to explore traditional England including its countryside and dramatic coastline.
They regularly host events days, which include Fighting Knights and storytelling of King Arthur Tales. It is a fantastic day out, whether you are six or 60. From the castle you will also be able to enjoy mesmerising views out across the Atlantic Ocean, and on a clear day you may even see Lundy Island.
To cater for myth and legend explorers we have over 30 cottages within a short drive of Tintagel, and several within the town itself. In the town you will find a choice of pubs, cafes and shops to enjoy, and during the summer months you will be guaranteed a bustling atmosphere in the village. At the top end of the village you will find the tourist information centre, packed with leaflets and advice to help make your stay in Cornwall memorable.
If the castle wasn't enough to inspire you, then take a walk along the south west coast path. My favourite walk from Tintagel is to Barras Nose, which is a headland owned by the National Trust. In fact, I believe it was the first ever coastal acquisition made by the National Trust. The walk is only a mile long, but certainly long enough to work up an appetite.
