Falmouth Beaches

Falmouth is home to four main beaches; Gyllyngvase, Castle, Maenporth and Swanpool. Offering a range of beach activities and water sports from stand-up paddleboarding at Gyllngvase to rock pooling on Castle Beach, there is something to suit everyone.  

Gyllyngvase

Gyllyngvase is the largest and most popular beach in Falmouth, which has even received Blue flag status. Perfect for families, with gently sloping sands. 

Safety: RNLI lifeguard cover from 19th May to 30th September 
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May to 30th September (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Facilities: Beach Café, toilets and sand chair (needs to be hired in advance)
Parking: Fee-paying council car park within about 400ft

Castle

Safety: No lifeguard cover
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Facilities: Toilets and beach cafe
Parking: Parking on Cliff Road

Swanpool (1.5 miles from Falmouth town centre)

Safety: No lifeguard cover
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Facilities: Café, beach shop, crazy golf course and watersports equipment hire.
Parking: Large pay and display car park is located right across the road from the beach.

Maenporth (3 miles from Falmouth town centre)

Safety: No lifeguard cover
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
Facilities: Beach café, toilets and shop.
Parking: Fee-paying car park on the beach
