Although Wadebridge is inland it is only a 7-mile drive from some fantastic beaches...
These beaches include the neighbouring locations of Polzeath and Rock, both are fabulous examples of Cornish beaches in the area and are well-worth a visit.
Polzeath
Polzeath is a seaside resort situated on the North coast of Cornwall. Polzeath is renowned for its sandy beach, which is often a hot-spot for famous celebrities and the royal family.
Polzeath is a wide, flat family beach with good quality surf and some shelter from winds.
Parking: 1 large car park above the cliffs, 1 smaller car park situated on the beach and 1 small car park close to the beach.
Toilets: Yes, located straight across the road from the beach.
Facilities: Polzeath offers a wide selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.
Safety: Lifeguards patrol the beach in summer.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive. Information on bringing your dog on holiday.
New Polzeath has access to Polzeath beach at low water; and additionally to Pentireglaze beach, a smaller beach.
Rock
Rock is a long sandy beach on the east side of the Camel Estuary, on the opposite side to Padstow.
Parking: There is one small car park available and also some road parking.
Toilets: Yes, located in far corner.
Facilities: Rock offers a selection of shops, a golf course, cafes, restaurants and ferry service to Padstow.
Safety: Lifeguards don't patrol the beach.
Dogs: Dogs allowed on the beach all year (though it is worth checking this before your visit). Information on bringing your dog on holiday.
