Cornwall Air Ambulance has been saving lives across the county since 1987
Flying more than 700 lifesaving missions each year throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, their amazing response time means they arrive on the scene much quicker than a road ambulance. These extra minutes can make the difference between life and death and the benefits don’t stop there – as well as arriving on the scene faster, sometimes to some pretty remote places, they can also get patients to hospital quicker.
Having flown over 26,021 missions since 1987, today’s crew are able to utilise enhanced equipment including Night Vision goggles, specially adapted cockpits, a 30-million candle power searchlight and advanced mapping meaning they can now fly 12 hours per day, 365 days a year.
Here at Cornish Horizons, we are in awe of the amazing work they do and so we’ll be working with them as our nominated charity. We’ve set up a scheme, whereby we ask that you add £2 to the payment of your holiday and we will pass on, in full, the total amount raised to the charity.
