Porthcurno Cottages

Porthcurno is a small village about 7 miles from the town of Penzance and only 2.5 miles from the spectacular coastline of Land’s End.  Once the centre of world telecommunications, the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum tells the story of the vital role the village played in the pioneering days. 

Porthcurno has a large, sandy beach which is popular with families.  The headlands on both sides provide shelter making this bay an oasis of natural beauty. Dogs are welcome on the beach between 1st October and 30th April, although it’s always best to double check for the most up-to-date information. On the cliffs above the beach, you will find the internationally renowned Minack Theatre. Built in the 1920s, this incredible open-air theatre is perched on the cliff edge overlooking the ocean.  You can visit all year round with shows mostly running between April and September. Porthcurno beach and bay has been listed in the top ten most beautiful bays in the world - it’s easy to see why the location manager of Poldark picked it for Nampara Cove!
