Downderry Cottages

Downderry is a seaside village near Looe which has a long sandy, dog friendly beach with many rock pools at low tide.

For surfers there are two reef breaks and to the east of the beach, is a rocky outcrop known as, Bass Rock, this is a popular place for fishing and for snorkelers. Further down the beach, snorkeling is also enjoyed around Coldeadon Point. At the western end of the beach there is disabled access and a small car park with public toilets in the village centre. Boats can also be launched via the path/slipway at the western end. A small amount of on-road parking is available east of Downderry and at low tide you can also park at Seaton and walk along the beach to Downderry.

The village and beach offer views to the west of Looe Island and to the east of Rame Head and on clear days you can even see the Eddystone Lighthouse 8 miles to the south. In the village, there is a shop with a Post Office, pub, restaurant, coffee shop and church.
