A leading venue in Cornwall has been given half a million pounds from a philanthropic organisation in an effort to reach those who do not currently attend performances.

The Hall for Cornwall was awarded the substantial amount of money by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and Julien Boast, director of the venue, called it a 'wonderful opportunity' for everyone involved, adding that he hoped the award would 'truly open the reach of our productions'.

One of the Duchy's most popular entertainment venues, the Hall for Cornwall regularly attracts both up and coming and established acts from the music and comedy world, with their performances interspersed by many fantastic productions every week.

Should you be planning some memorable Cornwall cottage holidays to the region over the coming months, be sure to see if there any of your favourite artists or performers playing at the Hall for Cornwall during your stay.
