A pod of 100 dolphins has been spotted just off the coast of Cornwall, an example of the diversity of wildlife here.

There's an excellent educational opportunity coming up to learn a little more about Cornwall's artistic side as a local art expert takes to the Fal River to talk about its lure.

FRSA Director of Falmouth Art Gallery, Louise Connell, will be heading up the cruise, talking about the inspirational quality of the Fal River Valley. The region is well known for having inspired a raft of famous artists, including Turner, Charles Napier Hemy and Christopher Wood, and the cruise and talks will cover how each found something to love along the Fal River, with paintings and photographs from the local gallery to provide examples.

The fascinating cruise takes place this August 6th and it should make for a great day out for anyone staying in local Cornish cottages. If you'd like to learn more, or book tickets for the event, you should head on over to the Fal River website.
