For me there is nowhere better to enjoy a dog friendly day out than at the beautiful Towan beach in Newquay. Rodney - aka Bees - likes nothing better than getting his paws sandy and taking a dip in the ocean to cool off after chasing other tails around! The beach is one of many Cornwall beaches that are dog friendly all year round and when the tide is out you can walk all the way from Newquay Harbour to Porth. And with Towan, Great Western, Tolcarne and Lusty Glaze all offering great places to stop and have a bite to eat you certainly won’t go hungry.

There are so many wonderful walks in North Cornwall but my all-time favourite is the circular route from Cubert to Polly Joke. As this is a daily walk for me and my small posse of dogs, I sometimes take for granted just how stunning and peaceful this largely unknown area is. I get to talk to the locals who frequent the same area most days, and to sightseers who are astounded so much beauty is on our doorstep. Coco, Bruno, Buster and Daisy get so excited, running around in circles along the Cubert Common and dashing in and out with the tide at the beach. It can’t not bring a smile to your face!

You can’t beat a visit to Bedruthan Steps with your four-legged friends. Not only do you get to enjoy the stunning, rugged coastline but after your walk you can sit outside the Carnewas Tearooms that overlook Bedruthan Steps with views on to Park Head. The tearooms have been run by the same local family for 30 years and the café itself is steeped in history, originally starting its life as an old mining stable. The tea gardens, which used to be the horses' paddock, now provide an idyllic place for lunch or one of their famous cream teas. They provide a warm welcome to pets and even have some special doggie treats for them!
