Why? Because our knowledgeable local staff are based in our local offices right here in Cornwall, but we are also part of The Original Cottage Company. This means we have the resources of a much larger national company at our disposal.
Our goal is to bring you bookings - lots and lots of bookings!
Although we market your property in many ways, our websites are the most important means of attracting bookings. All our websites allow customers to easily browse properties, see high quality photographs, a comprehensive description, book and pay securely online. They are also ‘responsive’ which means they display differently depending on what type of device is being used e.g. laptop, tablet or phone.

This helps to improve our position in search engine results and the design has been simplified to make bookings more straightforward, and we are seeing higher conversion rates from it – that is, more people who visit the site are actually booking. Significant staff time and resource are deployed both by the local team and by our specialists in Norfolk in Search Engine Optimisation to ensure we stay at or near the top of the key search phrases used by our customers.

This is the national site featuring all the cottages from all the brands across England and Wales belonging to The Original Cottage Company. It suits the kind of customer who is looking for a very specific type of property, and may be willing to travel for it, and we market Cornish properties to customers from other brands, and vice versa.

Email newsletters to our customers
We regularly send out email newsletters to our huge customer and enquirer database. We send carefully targeted information to a particular group of customers, so we don’t inundate them with information. We track the progress of these emails and constantly refine them to achieve the most bookings for you.
Social media
We actively engage with guests and other people with an interest in us through a variety of social media – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. We encourage people to “like” us, “share” posts and regularly run competitions to increase interest. This is an increasingly important way of communicating with our customers. They are very loyal to us and often promote us among their friends.
Photography
Our professional photographers capture your property at it’s best. All properties are photographed for free by us.
Press coverage and PR
We work closely with our PR agent who keeps us informed of any national and local opportunities for press coverage. We promote our cottages through a variety of targeted advertising in the local and national newspapers, magazines, visitor publications etc. We also work closely with local tourism agencies and a number of oversea affiliates.
Printed advertising
We advertise and showcase properties locally and nationally from Cornwall Life to bus stops (to name a few).

Our marketing team work with sophisticated technology to ensure people find our website (which is where your property is advertised) when they search for a holiday online.
We go to shows
We attend local, county and national shows, so people can meet us and find out about our properties. We have high quality show displays and we take our magazines and other literature with us, together with great branded giveaways.
Signs promoting properties
We provide high quality, printed signs which show the property name, how many people it sleeps, its star grading and our contact details. These signs are available free of charge to homeowners in prominent locations who would like one.
Magazine
Our magazine highlights Cornwall as a destination and directs customers to our website. It also features a selection of our properties to entice people to visit our website and find out more. We distribute the magazines locally across Cornwall, at shows and events both in Cornwall and beyond.
