There's lots to do in and around Marazion during the day; we've even written lots of other blogs on the subject of fun events/activities/places to go. A question often asked is 'What is there to do in the surrounding area as the sun goes down?' and the answer is 'Lots!'.
Here's just nine great things you can do during your stay at the Cornish coast. What are you most looking forward to doing?
1. Watch the Sunset at the Godolphin Arms
The Godolphin Arms is a fantastic restaurant that serves locally caught seafood amongst a range of Cornish dishes. You can make the most of the restaurant's beautiful surroundings by enjoying your meal on their fantastic balcony.
2. Eat Fish & Chips on the beach!
If the weather is warm and you’d rather eat al-fresco one evening, why not venture along the West End and visit the Tudor Chippy.
Grab some traditional fish and chips and eat them on the beach. Sometimes the simplest option can be the best and there’s nothing quite like fish and chips with arguably the best sea view in Britain.
3. Visit the beacon
Head up Back Street and follow the signs through the wooded path (watch your step) to the Beacon above the town. Enjoy a quiet and peaceful alternative view, there's even a couple of benches up there!
4. Cocktails at the Mount Haven Hotel
Its hard to argue against how relaxing that view and a nice cocktail would be. Seeing the sun go down from this viewpoint after a long day of exploring everything Cornwall has to offer is a must for your holiday checklist!
5. Walk to Perranuthnoe & Back
Perranuthnoe isn't too far away from Marazion and boasts a fantastic beach. Timing it right so you walk back from here as the sun is setting means you'd have an awesome view of sun hiding behind St Michael's Mount.
6. The Minack Theatre
The Minack is a world renown open-air theatre featuring a stunning backdrop of the Cornish coast. During the summer months it becomes an active theatre with several performances a week in the evenings. However, even if you are unable to get tickets, the beautiful theatre is worth visiting even when there isn't a performance on!
7. The Fire Engine Pub
Under new management but already receiving excellent reviews the Fire Engine Inn combines a pub atmosphere with quality, freshly made food.
It houses an array of locally sourced drinks and the beer garden is an ideal location to soak up the remaining sun on a Cornish summer’s evening.
8. Watch the Surfers at Sennen Cove
Senne Cove is beautiful as the sun goes down. It's a surf hotspot, even in the evening. If you're a surfer yourself later on in the day may be a quieter time in the water, with many of those visiting Sennen Cove for the day likely heading home.
9. Porthleven Restaurants
There are plenty of great restaurants in Marazion but if you fancy a change of scenery, Porthleven has several award-winning ones that are certainly worth a visit.
