Meet the Owner – Tregerrick

For over 25 years, Cornish Horizons has been successfully letting holiday cottages throughout Cornwall. Not only are we committed to offering the highest possible levels of customer service to our guests, we also strive to maintain a friendly, yet professional service to all our homeowners.

Cathy Hemming is one of newest owners to join our portfolio and owns Tregerrick in Padstow, a property which will be getting live next month. We wanted to know what she thought of our service so far and what made her choose to become a holiday home owner. 

What made you choose Cornish Horizons to be your agent?

We’ve had some lovely holidays ourselves through Cornish Horizons in the past, so we knew it was a company we could trust. We did contact a couple of other agencies, but Sophie at Cornish Horizons was friendly and helpful and supported us right the way through from looking at houses in the beginning to finally getting our cottage ready to let.

What have you enjoyed about our service so far?

The loveliest thing is how friendly and cheerful everyone has been. The whole team have been brilliant – especially in the early stages when there were deliveries and people dropping in and out. There’s always a friendly voice on the end of the phone and the response via email is always very prompt too. We’ve really appreciated all the advice and support.

What was it that first inspired you to start letting Tregerrick?

We’ve been coming to Padstow on holiday for the past 25 years – longer still if you count our family holidays as children! It’s always been a dream to have our own little place in a part of the world that we love so much. Tregerrick was an empty little cottage getting occasional letting use and in need of quite a bit of TLC and we thought we could make it a great place to spend a holiday.

What advice do you have for potential property owners who are thinking about holiday letting?

Ask for help from the start! It’s been a huge asset to have an experienced pair of eyes and good advice on hand from the moment that we started looking for a property. Choose somewhere that you can love and that you can share with other people who will love it too!
