When you think of beach cafés in Cornwall, it conjures images of warm and welcoming wooden furnished interiors with chatty guests and sandy feet. We recently asked a few members of our team to tell us their favourite beach café in Cornwall which they’ve recently visited and why. Here’s what they told us - you may want to add one or two to your ‘must visit’ list…
Our Property Recruiter, Ashleigh
“The Gylly Beach Café is located directly on the beach in Falmouth, the perfect spot to sit and admire the view and giggle as you watch the swimmers come out of the sea looking a little pinker than when they first got in! You can choose to sit outside under the heated veranda, or dine inside in the warmth. It was such a beautiful morning that I sat outside – they have blankets for you to wrap yourself up in if you’re feeling a little chilly. Never one to scrimp on good food, I ordered the full Cornish breakfast which was so tasty. The ingredients were super fresh and the service very friendly. The location is of course superb - I will certainly be coming back to sample their lunch and dinner menu soon!”

“On a calm summer’s evening my favourite place to go for an early aperitif is Hooked on the Rocks which is perched on the bank overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Falmouth Bay with views out to Pendennis Castle and St Anthony’s Lighthouse. You can sit out on the terrace with a chilled glass of rose and tuck into some of their home-made focaccia bread dipped in a balsamic and olive oil infusion along with their sublime Gordal olives. On a chillier evening they provide big blankets to surround yourself in whilst you watch the sun go down.”
Our Property Manager, Sophie
“My favourite beach café is The Widemouth Bay Café and is found at Widemouth, overlooking the dramatic coastline. It offers a cosy atmosphere, excellent coffee and great food in a warm yet contemporary atmosphere. This dog friendly café is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny lunch overlooking the sea, or equally a hot chocolate with all the trimmings on a wet and wild day like we did last week. We sipped on expertly made Americanos and shared a salted caramel cookie whilst watched the roaring seas from the panoramic windows. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is well priced and tasty.”

“My favourite beach café in Cornwall is The Watering Hole on Perranporth Beach because it’s located in the perfect position, in the middle beach and they do the best hot chocolates. The beach itself which is nearly 2 miles long and allows dogs all year round, also helps to build up an appetite and make room for that well-earned slice of delicious cake too!”
