For over 25 years, Cornish Horizons has been successfully letting holiday cottages throughout Cornwall. Not only are we committed to offering the highest possible levels of customer service to our guests, we also strive to maintain a friendly, yet professional service to all our homeowners.

Fred and Trang Sinstead are some of the newest owners to join our portfolio and own the stunning two bedroom Cottage Barn Owl Keep in Mawgan Porth, near Newquay.  We wanted to know what they thought of our service so far and what made them choose to become a holiday home owner.

1. What was it that first inspired you to start letting Barn Owl Keep?

Well to be fair we bought it predominantly for holiday lettings and we wanted somewhere that we would personally want to stay in immediately upon setting eyes on it, and during our search Barn Owl Keep, or the less imaginatively named " number 7 " as it was, jumped right out at us. We split our time between Vietnam and Cornwall and after selling a long held property in Bucks, having the opportunity to acquire a little slice of Cornwall was simply irresistible.

2. What advice do you have for potential property owners who are thinking about holiday letting?

Exactly the same as I have learnt living in Thailand and Vietnam over the last 10 years or more, namely that local knowledge is king. As is very likely a holiday let owner will not be close by, it is critical that the letting agent and their associates eg. changeover staff and "fixers" are all on hand, knowledgeable, and above all reliable to take care of things in your absence and to give you peace of mind with everything from initial booking through to happy guests and hopefully repeat bookings!

3. What made you choose Cornish Horizons to be your agent?

Both we and others in the family have enjoyed some terrific breaks in Cornwall in some lovely properties arranged via Cornish Horizons so they seemed an obvious first port of call. Very quickly it became obvious that their subtle suggestions about how to maximise property appeal through to sensible without being too ambitious pricing terms to give the widest appeal to those wanting a really memorable short break away in a true home away from home (with maybe a bit more luxury thrown in!).

4. What have you enjoyed about our service so far?

Undoubtedly it is the attention to detail shown by everybody involved. Nothing is too much trouble in sorting out answers to our sometimes probably irrelevant and inane questions, to getting the display pictures " just so", to ensuring that all possible bases are covered so that the guests have as carefree a time as possible.

Very refreshing!
