Discover the Coast to Coast Trail

The Coast to Coast Trail runs from Devoran on the south coast to Portreath on the north coast.  The full trail is 11 miles long but you can just walk or cycle a section of the path if you want something a little less daunting.

The Coast to Coast Trail follows a pretty level route across Cornwall. Originally built for ponies to pull mining materials, it is home to a large number of engine houses dotted across the landscape and the area is rich in mining history.  The trail dips and twists through wooded vales, runs parallel with bubbling streams and never gets too steep or strenuous for moderately competent cyclists. There are even some fun ramps and jumps for the more adventurous spirits.  At the southern end you will pass under the spectacular Carnon Viaduct which carries the branch rail line from Falmouth to Truro.

The Trail is suitable for the whole family as it is almost entirely off-road and bikes can be hired at both ends. At Bissoe (on the south coast) you can park and hire bikes at Bike Chain Ricci and on the northern end you can do the same here from Elm Farm. Both stops have cafes serving good food and drinks throughout the day. Alternatively pack up a picnic and head out with the family for a lovely day out in the fresh Cornish countryside and stop for an ice cream along the way.
