Cornwall tops the list of Pinterest’s most ‘pinned’ holiday destinations in the UK for 2015. Rather aptly, users of the image sharing social site have declared their love for the ‘picture perfect’ county, pinning it to their personal boards ahead of any other destination in Britain.

The pin ’Craving Cornwall’ made the top 10 list of most pinned topics as the desirable location for holiday goers in the UK and was beaten only by ‘Amsterdam getaway’ in the travel category overall.

Pinterest also includes the year’s most popular fashion trends, food inspiration and DIY projects in its annual Top Pins list – honouring users’ frequently searched for and pinned images.

It seems you can’t beat British when it comes to Pinterest’s top pins for 2015. Joining Cornwall on the shortlist, avocados as advocated by Nigella Lawson and Tom Hardy’s style inspiration for men made notable entries for the site’s UK users.

Likewise, our travel choices are decidedly patriotic too with more people hoping to escape to luxury holiday properties in Cornwall for their next staycation.

Pinterest has been quick to react, as a spokesperson explains: "Whether online or on mobile, people in the UK will be able to find even more locally relevant content when searching on Pinterest.

"People use Pinterest to discover and search for content on projects or things they actually want to do or buy in the real world so these new local results will make it easier for them to actually find the products and ideas they are looking for.

"Last year, Pinterest launched Guided Search to help people find things they didn't even know they were looking for, which consists of trending ideas that other people on the platform are searching for."

Clearly, Cornwall, a favourite hot spot amongst British holidaymakers, is making waves on Pinterest. Hardly surprising given its picturesque beaches, coastal walks and views.
