Hello everyone, my name is Teg and I’m a German Shorthaired Pointer – I’m the one at the back, the other one is my niece, she’s called Kerra. Our names are Cornish, Teg means beautiful (very apt don’t you think?) and Kerra means dearest (the jury’s out on that one but as she’s only two years old I suppose we should make allowances).
We’re very lucky girls, we live near Padstow so get plenty of opportunity to use up our energy on the lovely sandy beaches, we can even go to most of them in the summer as many of them are dog friendly. We also enjoy using footpaths and exploring inland routes away from the coast, oh, and there are moors as well! Lots of places are dog friendly now, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan for instance and, if we’re well behaved, some pubs and cafes welcome us.
It was half term last week and there were lots of people and their four legged friends here on holiday with Cornish Horizons, we had a great time meeting everyone so I hope many make a return visit, did you know that if you book more than one holiday through us this year you only pay the booking fee once?
Last weekend we were competing at an Agility Show near Bodmin. You can see from the photographs (you’ll have to excuse our ears, being shorthaired there’s no weight to hold them down!) that we were ‘in the zone’, I surpassed myself coming home with a second place rosette and one for a clear round, the youngster did jolly well I have to say, she very nearly achieved a clear round in one of her classes. Our next event is at the end of the month near Truro (link to anything in that area), our County Town. There’s a lot to explore there and the Cathedral is well worth a visit.
