With crisp, cold nights drawing in, what better time to take a well earned break in a cosy Cornish character cottage for two, with a bottle of bubbly (or a hot drink) beside  a crackling  fire to warm you through.  Whether you are looking for a rural retreat or an escape to the coast; to just relax and unwind or to embrace the winter weather by enjoying an invigorating walk - Cornwall is the ideal place.  Why not soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the local Cornish food and drink too.

To help you appreciate the joys of winter in Cornwall, why not book a getaway in a cute cosy cottage for two with a real fire.  (Many of our cottages will also accept a dog/s and a few will even accept horses, if you wish to bring your four legged friend along too).

To give you a taster of the types of character cottages we have available for two, please see some of our favourites below:

The Granary (1 bedroom)A beautiful and luxurious little barn conversion, set in a tranquil location on a working farm and enjoying views over rolling countryside. The owners have made quality and comfort a priority for their visitors who will appreciate their attention to detail. A log burner and underfloor heating ensures that The Granary is cosy place to stay no matter what the time of year. The villages of St Mabyn and St Tudy are just over a mile away; both have an excellent pub (St Mabyn boasting a fine dining restaurant) and a useful village shop.  The old market town of Wadebridge is only 5 miles away and offers the highest number of independent retail outlets in Cornwall.

Tresallyn Cottage (1 bedroom and dog friendly)It is hard to believe this stunning detached cottage for two was once the original tack room and stables for the old Tresallyn riding school, which has since been converted to modern livery facilities.  The owners have taken great care in the design and furnishing of the cottage to ensure an idyllic holiday for their visitors (including a multi-fuel/woodburning stove in the lounge). Situated on a working farm the cottage offers spacious accommodation, peace and tranquillity in a rural setting. However the bustling village of St Merryn and several sandy, surfing beaches are only a short drive away as is the fishing port of Padstow, where a choice of many restaurants and places of interest including the Camel Trail may be found.

Palm Cottage (2 bedrooms and dog friendly)Coast or countryside? You'll have the best of both worlds if Palm Cottage is your chosen holiday cottage - from the tiny, rural village of St Teath, countryside, moorland and the stunning North Cornwall coast are all on your doorstep. Palm Cottage is a traditional, stone, two up two down cottage, with slate flagstone floors, a multi-fuel burner and exposed beams, its character has been retained whilst the conveniences of modern life have been provided. The coastal villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac are nearby as is the wild expanse of Bodmin Moor, with all its folklore and legend.
