Snapshot of the top film locations in Cornwall

Following the 2015 BAFTA TV Awards, which took place on Sunday 10th May, some of the top film and TV locations in Cornwall have been revealed.

Whilst Cornwall is more renowned for being a top destination for holidaymakers, the county is also a hotbed for film and TV sets, as demonstrated in an article on the Cornish Guardian website that reveals the top 13 locations in Cornwall that have been used as film and TV sets. Below we take you through a scaled down list of the top filming locations in Cornwall.

Charlestown

Located in St. Austell Bay is the harbour village of Charlestown. The village is located approximately 2 miles out of St. Austell town centre and has long been a popular filming location with movie and TV producers, having previously featured in the 2010 Alice in Wonderland blockbuster and more recently in the popular TV series Poldark. Antony House

Antony House is an 18th-century, National Trust-owned house that is located in between the small village of Antony and the larger town of Torpoint. The beautiful house was used as the setting for parts of the Alice in Wonderland film in 2010 by director Tim Burton.

Port Isaac

On the North Cornish coastline is the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac. Now it has become synonymous with the hugely popular Doc Martin TV series, which has been filmed and located in the village since it first aired on national television back in 2004.

The Eden Project

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Cornwall is the Eden Project, but the site isn’t just famed for its giant biomes and exotic plants as it was featured in the James Bond film Die Another Day in 2002. Hollywood stars Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry were both in that James Bond film.
