Cornwall has some of the best beaches in the world on both the North and South coasts.
Tide out, sun out, hats on! Great beach
Perranporth is a wonderful family beach on the North Coast of Cornwall near Newquay
With over 400 wonderful sandy bays accessible on foot there’s plenty to choose from. We all have different reasons for having a favourite beach. It could be that its great for kids, easy to access for those with limited mobility, the best sunset beach, perfect for learning to surf, dog friendly, fantastic for rock pooling or its just the most beautiful beach you’ve ever visited. Whatever your reason let us know and share a picture or two of your days in the sun (or rain!) with everyone as well. Here are a few of our favourite Cornish beaches to get you started:
Polzeath: a great family, sandy beach with safe swimming and lifeguards. It’s also popular with surfers. And hey, you can even park on the beach.
Constantine Bay: beautiful long beach backed by sand dunes with lots of room to play beach games.
Crackington Haven: tucked away and quiet, with a perfect pub by the beach to watch the sun going down
Sennen Cove: a mile long bay of sandy beach with great surfing and a brilliant cafe overlooking the sand
Perranporth: this beach has everything – three miles of fine sand, good surfing and safe bathing, rock pools at low tide, dogs welcome all year round (but must be kept on a lead during July and August) and it has the only bar on a beach in the UK.
