Kaiser Chiefs are fans of St Ives

As popular British indie rock band the Kaiser Chiefs is thrust into the spotlight more than ever before with frontman Ricky Wilson taking on BBC’s The Voice Final at the weekend and their performance on the hit TV show being received as a hit, the band’s keyboard player remains with his feet firmly on the ground describing his love of St Ives and Cornwall.

While Ricky himself is known to have a strong connection to the western county, with a house in Falmouth, keyboard player Nick “Peanut” Baines is also a fan of the area more commonly known for being popular with families on summer St Ives cottage holidays than a rocker’s lifestyle.

As their newest album Education, Education, Education & War tops the album charts, Peanut reminisces about childhood spent in the picturesque coastal town rather than high-energy tours, describing the area as akin to that of “California or Western Australia” saying in this article, “Ah, lovely St Ives,” and “When I was a child the family went to Carbis Bay and spent the summer holidays on the beach”.
