Falmouth Spring Festival

Running from March 13th - 30th the festival has something for everyone and begins with Paint the Town Yellow Day (March 13) where the town becomes ablaze with yellow in preparation for the festival as local schoolchildren and interior design students from the Falmouth University, brighten up nearly 100 shop windows with thousands of daffodils and decorations. The next day a free exhibition entitled 'Then & Now' opens in the foyer of the Town Hall on The Moor and gives a photographic history of the Falmouth Spring Flower Show from the first show in 1910 opened by Queen Victoria's granddaughter Princess Christian at Gyllyngdune Gardens.

For fitness fanatics, there is a guided walk on March 14th, a half marathon around the town on March 16th and Fitness on the Moor on March 22nd.

A large range of folk bands will entertain during the Cider and Folk Fayre in Event's Square on March 22nd and 23rd, while at the same time on The Moor families can have a go at dodging a swing ball or playing giant snakes and ladders, connect 4 or quoits.

The festival would not be complete without its annual flower show on March 29th and 30th. Held at the Princess Pavilion, the show always has a fine collection of exotic and rare plants. There’s flower arranging, competitions, refreshments and green-fingered experts will be on hand to answer all your questions.
