Doctor Who has been announced to be in the running for an award at the upcoming Celtic Media Festival to take place in St Ives between the 2nd and 4th April. St Ives is incredibly proud to be hosting the 33-year old festival that celebrates its Celtic roots and is sure to attract many people, both the public and film stars, to the area.

Both Doctor Who and BBC Wales’ The Call Centre are up for awards at the festival, where it is hoped that visitors on St Ives cottage holidays in Easter will catch a glimpse of cast members as the Bronze Torc Awards honour those in film, TV, radio and digital media that celebrate the languages and culture of ancient Celtic nations such as Cornwall.

Held in a different Celtic town every year, St Ives won the right to host the event after the head of the town’s chamber of commerce, Paul Ford, secured their bid. Past Celtic Media Festivals have taken place in Swansea, Derry, Londonderry and Galway so St Ives is very privileged to be bestowed with the honour that will hopefully see many people from all over the country in attendance.
