A new harbour taxi service is to be introduced in Hayle this Easter on a trial period that will see visitors to the area given the opportunity to ride the 16-person rib boat between North Quay and St Ives.
The St Ives Rib Ride is set to be a great attraction and transport feature of the area and is supported by Hayle Harbour Authority, local councillors and MP George Eustice.
Visitors staying in Easter St Ives cottages this April will get the chance to experience the high powered boat ride whilst further exploring the beautiful local area. As this is a trial period for the St Ives Rib Ride, ticket prices are yet to be determined and visitors to the area are recommended to check availability beforehand to ensure they experience the 25-minute service.
It is hoped that the shuttle service will benefit the communities of both Hayle and St Ives, as well as their visitors, by connecting the two towns via the water. Should weather conditions not be right, a bus service is planned to run instead, according to this article, and if the service is successful there are plans to then add an extra route from South Quay in Hayle.
