This event brings together a fusion of Music, Dance and Light. The procession weaves its way through the streets of the City Of Truro and incorporates both Professional Artists and local school children who carry lanterns of all sizes. The Truro City of Lights Festival annual parade is once more nearly here and always makes this cold November night come alive with the warmth from the glows of the hand made lanterns that abound the streets. This amazing parade plays a major part in the Truro events calendar. There are all types of illuminations but this year no ones knows what the theme will be so it is even more intriguing as the theme is 'Expect the Unexpected'. The parade is accompanied by music from local  Samba Bands and no one cannot resist tapping their feet and clapping their hands in delight.

There are over 1000 school children from the local schools that take part in the parade alongside Professional artists. The children start to make their lantern at the schools earlier on in the school term and each of the participating school or group works with one of the City of Lights artists to make small lanterns on the year's theme.

The streets in the surrounding areas of Truro are usually closed off so ensure you wrap up warmly and get there early. The park and ride scheme in Truro usually puts on later buses. So make a note in your diary as this particular event will delight both young and old and is UNMISSABLE.
