Tourism chiefs across Cornwall are celebrating what has been a superb end to a fantastic summer, with extra visitors helping the Duchy to enjoy its finest August in five years.
With tranquil countryside vistas, award-winning beaches and a wealth of landmarks just some of the attributes the country boasts, it comes as little surprise that so many people visited the region on their family holidays.
One person who was thrilled with the high visitor numbers was Malcolm Bell, head of Visit Cornwall, who attributed the positivity to the lengthy spells of unbroken sunshine which blessed the county throughout August. With tourism providing an estimated £2 billion to both Cornwall and neighbouring Devon every year, it comes as little surprise that the high levels of visitors were so celebrated.
If you are keen to discover why Cornwall has remained so popular throughout the years, booking into one of the holiday cottages in St Ives could offer the perfect method to do so.
