Significant improvements outlined for Cornwall's Coast Path

The South West Coast Path is set to benefit from a host of improvements in the coming months, with over £1.45 million of public money already spent or allocated to repairing stretches of the famous trail.

A large amount of the cash has been spent on Cornwall's share of the network – and rightly so, after more than 30 major cliff falls and slips were recorded in the Duchy during the winter of 2012/2013. One of the prime spots where a portion of the £1.45 million was spent was the stretch between Caerhays and Rame Head, a region which is so often a popular draw for those enjoying their Cornwall cottage holidays.

With the Coast Path believed to generate as much as £177 million annually for the local economy, making the stretch safe is paramount in helping both locals and tourists enjoy the paths at their very best.
