The St Ives Visitor Information Centre will soon welcome its 200,000th visitor in the next few weeks, demonstrating just how useful it has been for those who have enjoyed a holiday in St Ives in the last 3 years.
The centre was saved from closure around 3 years ago, thanks to the combined efforts of the local council, paid staff and a very dedicated team of volunteers. Since Cornwall Council decided not to fund the St Ives Visitor Information Centre anymore, it has proven to be a very useful informative source for the tens of thousands of people who are looking for holiday advice whilst in St Ives.
Staff at the centre regularly provide directions, advice, some dry shelter and take holiday bookings, all services that would be missed had the centre closed back in 2010. With the summer school holidays just around the corner, thousands of people will be heading to St Ives in the next few weeks, and the St Ives Visitor Information Centre's 200,000th visitor should be among them.
