In what could be an exciting development for the tourism scene in Cornwall, there have been ongoing talks regarding the re-introduction of a passenger service from Bodmin Railway Station.

It comes after the North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson argued the case during a House of Commons debate, asking the government to bring the return of a service from Bodmin while also developing a regular route to Okehampton. With the proposal met with a positive response from the Transport Minister Simon Burns, train carriages full of happy faces could be returning to the region very soon. Cornwall Council has also been looking at the prospect of running daily services from the station, using the same line once used by the steam engines of the Bodmin and Wenford Railway.

Should the service materialise, it could offer a fantastic way for those tourists visiting on their Cornwall holidays, allowing them to explore the undeniable beauty of the region like never before.
