The Tate St Ives Secures £2.8 Million Funding

In some fantastic news for The Tate St Ives, it has been confirmed that the institution has been awarded a £2.8million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Having been visited by millions of tourists since opening back in 1993, it is believed that the substantial funding is to go towards a major extension and renovation of the facility. Among the plans includes the opening of a permanent display dedicated purely to artists which worked in the west of Cornwall between the Second World War and the 1960s, as well the construction of a two-storey learning suite for visitors.

With the plans already approved, it is likely that the work will begin in the coming months. With the Tate Britain already welcoming an average of 240,000 visitors every year, the developments are sure to ensure its status as one of the county's top attractions for years to come.
