Saltash Unveils 62ft High Cornish Cross

The installation of a 62ft high Celtic Cross has finally been completed in Saltash, welcoming both locals and visitors crossing over the Tamar Bridge and arriving in Cornwall.

Representing a strong piece of Cornish heritage, the completion marks the end of a three year project and will certainly be an unmissable sight for any of those travelling on the road to reach their Cornwall cottage holidays in the coming months.

With bad weather previously postponing lifting the structure into place, the cross was finally put into position using two cranes over the weekend. The spokesman for the project and chairman of Saltash Waterfront Resident's Association Liam Bradley spoke of his delight of the finished project, saying that it is a stunning piece of public art which will stand as a monument to Cornwall for years to come.
