Popular Cornwall Museum Celebrates 10 Years

A leading institution in Cornwall is marking a decade of brilliance over the coming months with a series of events and showcases.

The National Maritime Museum in Falmouth – which was opened by the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, on 14 March 2003 – has welcomed over 1.4 million visitors through its doors, offering guests fascinating insight into some of the maritime stories from the county's coastal heritage.

One of the chief objectives of the museum throughout its history is to inspire and educate with a host of detailed galleries, exhibitions, activities and events.

Despite costing a whopping £30 million to make, tourism officials from around the region must surely feel that the sum was a small price to pay for the good of the region.
