The thousands of holidaymakers and ale drinkers that flock to Cornwall every year already knew it, but Cornwall can now lay claim to hosting Britain’s most popular beer.

The Cornish Ale Heligan Honey was ranked the best-loved beer in the UK by an app which allows users to rate their favourite tipples.

Although the rankings change each month, the Heligan Honey, which is brewed by Skinners, is proudly sitting at the number one spot, beating off stiff competition from around the country.

It was described as a ‘fantastic achievement’ by Steve Skinner, chief executive at Skinner’s Brewery, who also said that having the positive feedback coming in from individuals who are trying and rating their beer was ‘fantastic’.

Should you be planning a break in one of the excellent Cornwall cottages over the coming months, be sure to try one of Cornwall’s best local products for yourself and see what you make of it.
