To Madagascar with love from Cornwall

Sending a Mongoose to Madagascar may not quite be what you associate with Cornwall, probably more likely to be great beaches, world class surf, wonderful foods and great places to stay. But news hot off the press this morning confirms that hand reared baby Mongoose - Kirindy - will soon be setting off on an amazing adventure to a protected park in it's native Madagascar. The narrow striped Mongoose is extremely hard to hand-rear, so this achievement by Newquay Zoo is to be applauded. As well as this life changing event for Kirindy, also coming soon - on December 8th &9th at Cornwall's biggest Zoo is some festive fun amongst the animals. Santa will visit and there are special treats for all.   

The National Trust's Trerice House is close to Newquay, and on the same dates has a "Get Crafty" event where you can make some lovely Christmas themed gifts for family and friends. With Padstow hosting its Christmas Festival on 8th & 9th December, you could have a fun packed weekend enjoying some seasonally themed experiences and purchasing truly unique gifts.
