Autumn Breaks
The leaves are falling. The nights are slowly drawing in. The sun is fading from the sky. And there's no better time to take a much-needed break with Original Cottages.
The great thing about taking a break in Autumn is that you can really make the most of the additional extras that make all the difference. A roaring open fire that almost demands to be cuddled up in front of; a hot tub and spa that relaxes and invigorates; a welcoming, local pub that serves fine food in a friendly atmosphere; or a well-equipped games room that provides hours of fun while keeping you out of the cold.
Of course, one of the best things about Autumn is that it often provides great weather, a kind of tailing off from the summer months. Which is why the Lake District, for instance, can seem even more serene and beautiful. Why the big skies of East Anglia appear to be even bigger and more peaceful. Why the misty valleys of Wales are more mysterious and magnificent. And why the crashing seas on the coast of Cornwall seem more dramatic and thrilling.
Our accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes so there's something for all tastes and ages: for families, for groups and for romantic getaways for two. There's the elegant Badgers Cottage, for example, that's just a stone's throw from the rustic local pub and the stunning Dorset Coast. There's the Maerdy Uchaf farmhouse in North East Wales that boasts a hot tub, a games room and two log burners. Or the 17th Century Chapel Po House in the Lake District that has retained its original features and comes with a wonderfully welcoming open fire.
