Beaches

Trebarwith Strand

A sandy beach nestled against the high cliffs of the north Cornish coast and completely covered at high tide.  Situated a couple of miles from Tintagel, this popular beach is loved by families and has a seasonal shop and café.  It is accessed by climbing over rocks so is not suitable for all.

Parking:  1 large council run car park a 5 minute walk from the beach.

Toilets:  Right by the beach.

Facilities:  Beach shop and café.

Dogs:  Dogs allowed all year on Trebarwith Strand although we would recommend checking this beforehand.  Information on bringing your dog on holiday.

Bossiney Haven

This little sandy cove is located between Tintagel and Boscastle.   The beach is reached by a footpath and then steep steps so is not suitable for everyone.  There are caves to explore but take care – the whole beach is covered at high tide.

Parking:  Car parking in a field near the beach.

Facilities:  Toilets by the car park.

Dogs:  Dogs allowed all year on Bossiney Haven although we would advise checking this beforehand.  Information on bringing your dog on holiday.

Port Gaverne 

A narrow, sandy inlet just a few minutes’ walk from the cliff-top carpark at Port Isaac.  There’s plenty of sand at low tide and rockpools and caves to discover making it popular with families.  The cliff walks offer fabulous views and the adjacent fishing village of Port Isaac (the filming location for Doc Martin) is well worth exploring.

Parking:  1 car park at Port Isaac (can get very busy).

Toilets:  By the car park at Port Isaac.

Facilities:  A pub and at Port Isaac there are a number of shops and cafés.

Dogs:  Dogs allowed all year on Port Gaverne although again we would advise checking this beforehand. Information on bringing your dog on holiday.

Crackington Haven

Set on the dramatic north Cornish coast, Crackington Haven is located between Boscastle and Widemouth Bay.  A mostly pebbled beach set in a narrow inlet in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  There are some pretty impressive cliffs along this coastline affording some equally impressive views.  The small village provides a pub, a café and a small beach shop.

Parking:  Just opposite from the beach.

Toilets:  Right by the beach.

Facilities:  A pub, cafés and a beach shops.

Dogs:  Dogs are banned throughout July and August between the hours of 10am-6pm, although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
