Porthcurno Beaches

Porthcurno

If there was an 'A List' of Cornish beaches then Porthcurno would be on it without a doubt. In terms of natural beauty, few beaches anywhere can match it.  

Parking: Large car park above beach.
Toilets: There are toilets at the car park approximately 200m from the beach.
Facilities: Café, Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and Minack Theatre nearby.
Safety: Lifeguard service in the summer.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Pedn Vounder

Pedn Vounder is located at the eastern end of the bay that makes up Porthcurno cove and on a spring low tide it is possible to walk to Pedn Vounder from neighbouring Porthcurno beach. Please note Pedn Vounder is an unofficial naturist beach.

Parking: There is a car park about 10 minutes’ walk away in the village of Treen.
Toilets: Toilets at Treen village or Porthcurno.
Facilities: Facilities at Treen village or Porthcurno. 
Safety: No lifeguard cover.
Dogs: Allowed all year. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Porthchapel

Situated between Porthcurno and Porthgwarra is Porthchapel beach which is a sheltered cove surrounded by cliffs. Due to its location, access is only suitable for the able bodied as to get to the beach you will need to climb down some rocks.

Parking: Small field car park next to the church at St Levan.
Toilets: Toilets in Porthcurno village.
Facilities: There are no facilities at Porthchapel. The nearest shop is at the Minack Theatre just along the coast path with further facilities in the village at Porthcurno.
Safety: No lifeguard cover. 
Dogs: Dogs allowed. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Porthgwarra

Located just 3 miles from Lands End, Porthgwarra is a secluded, relatively unknown cove. There is a small beach here at low tide with an array of interesting rock pools and caves.

Parking: Ample car parking in field just by the village.
Toilets: Toilets in Porthgwarra.
Facilities: There is a seasonal café open in the summer.
Safety: No lifeguard cover. 
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
