Marazion Beaches

Marazion is set in the middle part of the large, sweeping bay of Mount’s Bay.  With St Michael’s Mount just off the shore, the area is blessed with some fabulous beaches.

Marazion Beach

Marazion is a mile-long sandy beach which is ideal for families with lifeguards patrolling through the summer, the convenience of the nearby town and a good children’s playground located on the green behind.

At low tide access to St Michael’s Mount is by way of a granite causeway, once walked by pilgrims. Whilst at high tide a gentle boat ride take visitors to the historic castle on the island.

Parking: There are a number of car parks on the beach front to the west of the town.
Toilets: Public toilets nearby in Marazion.
Facilities: Marazion town has a number of shops and facilities including cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Safety: Lifeguard service during summer months.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Eastern Green Beach

Eastern Green is the closest beach to Penzance, accessed via a concrete footpath from the bus station. The sheltered sand and shingle beach follows the curve of Mount's Bay to Long Rock.

Parking: Car park within 5 minutes’ walk.
Toilets: Public toilets in Penzance town.
Facilities: Cafes, restaurants and a range of other amenities in Penzance.
Safety: No lifeguard cover.
Dogs: Allowed all year. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Longrock Beach

Longrock beach lies between Penzance and Marazion stretching around Mount’s Bay. Favoured by locals as it is one of the most easily accessible stretches of sandy beach from the town.

Parking: Parking available in Longrock village and right by the beach.
Toilets: Public toilets nearby in Penzance or Marazion.
Facilities: 5 minutes’ walk away from Longrock village which has a shop and two pubs.
Safety: No lifeguard cover. 
Dogs: Allowed all year between Long Rock level crossing to Penzance Harbour. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Praa Sands

The perfect family beach, Praa Sands boasts a mile of white sand, shallow waters and great surf. With facilities right by the beach and surf hire also available, you’ll be able to make the most of this incredible spot!

Parking: There is a car park next to the beach.
Toilets:  There are toilets at the cafe by the beach.
Facilities:  Beach shop, cafe and toilets.
Safety:  Patrolled by lifeguards in peak season.
Dogs:  Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
