Hayle Beaches

One of the many attractions of Hayle is its golden beaches...

Around 3 miles of sand stretching from the town itself along the coast to Godrevy Point. As well as the internationally recognised bird watching around the estuary, the beaches also provide a great day on the beach for families and good surfing and waterports – perfect for all types of holiday.

Hayle Towans Beach

This long, sandy bay (actually made up of Hayle Towans Beach, Mexico Towans Beach and Black Cliff Beach) is what makes up the majority of Hayle’s huge expanse of sand.  Due to the size of the beach it rarely gets crowded and is a popular spot for kites buggies and families.

Parking: There is a car park at the campsite next to the beach which is almost always usable for parking.

Toilets: Toilets near the beachside café.

Facilities: There are a number of surf schools and cafés near the beach.

Safety: Lifeguard cover on Hayle Towans Beach and Mexico Towans Beach in peak season but no cover on Black Cliff Beach.

Dogs: Dogs are banned at Hayle Towans Beach from Easter Day to 1st October.  Dogs are permitted at Mexico Towans Beach and Black Cliff Beach all year round, although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Gwithian

A picturesque beach great for surfing, snorkelling, diving and sailing with wetsuits and boards available for hire and surf schools available should you want any lessons.  Also popular with families as there’s plenty of sand and also rock pools to explore.

Parking: There is parking between the beach and the road.

Toilets: Toilets near the beach.

Facilities: There is a café and a beach shop.

Safety: Lifeguard cover in peak season.

Dogs: Dogs are banned at from May to September (8am to 7pm), although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.

Godrevy

Godrevy is the furthest beach from Hayle and also the most dramatic.  The National Trust owned beach affords an excellent view of the famous Godrevy lighthouse said to have inspired Virginia Woolf's novel To the Lighthouse.  At low tide it joins Gwithian beach but watch out at high tide as the beach almost disappears.

Parking: 2 small car parks.

Toilets: Toilets in one of the car parks (seasonal).

Facilities: There is a café next to the beach.

Safety: Lifeguard cover in peak season.

Dogs: Dogs are banned at from May to September (8am to 7pm), although we would always advise checking this before you arrive.
