Things to do with children in Cornwall this February Half Term…

Cornwall is a great family destination all year round, but if you prefer to avoid too many crowds, February half term is a good time to come down.  We all know, however, that the weather can be a little unpredictable at this time of year. So here’s a selection of events and activities to help keep those littler ones entertained. 

Magical Pirates & Fairies Week at Paradise Park, Hayle – 10th to 18th February

Visit Paradise Park and take part in their Magical Pirates and Fairies quiz. When you have completed the quiz, you can claim your sweet treat – including golden chocolate coins, the pinkest of fairy sweet or little lollipops. Don’t miss the chance to meet Long John Tredinnick and his loyal band of parrots while you chart your course on your quest to find where the treasure is hidden.

Nearby Nature at Newquay Zoo – 10th to 18th February

Join Newquay Zoo this half term and celebrate the launch of ‘Nearby Nature’ activity book. You’ll also have the chance to experience ‘creepy encounters’ which take place daily at 2pm outside the tropical house and also watch the animals go wild for some tasty treats. 

Early Man at Eden – 10th to 18th February

Get ready for a prehistoric adventure of epic proportions at Eden this half-term. In association with Early Man, the major new film release from Nick Park and Aardman. Bring your tribe to Eden for intrepid adventures and behind-the-scenes fun based on the latest adventure by the creators of Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit. 

Love Birds at Lost Gardens of Heligan – 10th to 18th February

Come and meet the owls and learn all about Heligan’s feathered friends. Enjoy the fun family bird trail which will test your knowledge to see if you can identify the Heligan birds from their calls. Meet their special friends from Screech Owl Sanctuary up close and personal, join the Heligan Bird Watch and have fun in the Steward’s House making some bird crafts. 

Science of the Sea at the National Maritime Museum, Falmouth – 10th to 18th February 

Join the National Maritime Museum and enjoy hands on science with Bristol Explorer Dome and University of Exeter. Plus all the family favourites including craft making, trail, tidal zone, 100foot lookout tower and so much more!
