Although Cornwall’s traditional charms such as beach visits, rock pool investigations, consuming copious amounts of traditional pasties, ice creams, and fish and chips whilst dodging those pesky seagulls, continuously encourage people to visit the southern corners of the UK annually, sometimes it is nice to immerse yourself in some of the more cultural charms that this wonderful county also has to offer!

Those of you that have an appreciation and a flair for the arts may choose to spend some time in one of the many galleries around the county. With so many different exhibits and local artistic talents, you can take a step away from nearly any bustling street in Cornwall and find yourself surrounded by a wonderful, varied array of art. Why not drop by the Amanda Richardson Gallery at Lands’ End, Quay Art in Padstow, The Guild of Ten in Truro, Penwith Gallery or Art Space in St Ives, or even the Tate Gallery, also in Cornwall’s art central, the beautiful St Ives?

For those that prefer their culture served with a large side of greens, there are some beautiful gardens to visit whilst you are enjoying the county.  Why not visit the world famous Eden Project, Port Eliot House and Garden, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Potager or Trebah Garden in Famouth?

For a taste of history why not visit one of the many museums in Cornwall? With Helston, Lawrence House or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno or the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, you are certainly never far away from an opportunity to educate yourself in the past, present and future of Cornwall.

Why not indulge in a little theatrical culture whilst you are here? With many varied theatres staging a wildly diverse collections of events, plays and concerts? You can take in the magnificent coastal views from the breath taking Minack Theatre in West Cornwall, or attend a concert in the majestic caves and caverns of Carnglaze at Liskeard.

With so much choice you will be spoilt for cultural excursions and trips this year, and you can even bring a pasty or ice-cream with you!
