An iconic beach in St Ives has made the Western Morning News’ top ten favourite beaches in the South West. Following the beautiful weather that accompanied the Easter bank holiday weekend, even more are expected to flock to this picturesque England holiday hot spot as the WMN describes Porthminster’s beauty.

Porthminster Beach in west Cornwall is a huge draw for the many who visit the area on cottage holidays in St Ives and its beauty has now been recognised by one of the area’s leading newspapers. Next to the likes of Newquay’s popular surf spot Fistral Beach and Dorset’s Weymouth, Porthminster was in good company as one of the South West’s top ten.

As St Ives’ second largest beach, the WMN said that Porthminster’s ‘wide, sandy beach is ideal for bathers and is only a short walk from the town centre’ that is ‘regularly visited by seals and dolphins’. Leaving little room to question why so many families choose to spend their summer holiday in the popular Cornish town, why not visit Porthminster beach on your next holiday in Cornwall?
