Porthminster Beach Top Three in UK According to Poll

Porthminster Beach near St Ives has been named in a poll among the top three beaches in the UK and the top ten in Europe, it has been announced.

The beautiful beach – a half mile stretch of gorgeous sand and calm water that is perfect for the whole family – scooped the prestigious accolade in a new poll by holiday website TripAdvisor.

Perhaps even more impressive was the fact it finished ninth in Europe, competing against beaches from sunnier climes including Spain and Italy.

Famous for its rugged coastline and breathtaking views, the fact that the region fared very well in the poll it will come as little surprise to the thousands that flock to the county every year for a break in one of the excellent Cornwall cottages, with four of its beaches featured in the top 25 in the UK.
